You can even mix and match them like they did in the pictures above. If you’re handy, you can find an amazing old wood dresser, cut a hole in the top, and drop a farmhouse sink. Or, you can put a wood framed mirror over the vanity. There are a lot of different ways to add wood to your bathroom. You won’t find them cheaper anywhere else (believe me, I’ve looked!). Oh, and while you’re at it, pick up some Edison bulbs. Its not hard to change a light fixture (seriously, YouTube it), and it’ll change the whole look of the room! Since there are so many great styles of farmhouse bathroom lights, I couldn’t narrow it down! Update your lighting.Ĭhanging the lights in a room can really save it from that builder grade look. Mixing different textures, such as a wooden basket and those glass apothecary jars (which are perfect for holding cotton balls, q-Tips and bath salts), is one of the keys to getting the farmhouse look! Plus, using lots of containers will help you keep your bathroom organized! 4. Add decorative and functional things to your shelf. Shelves are a great way to get more storage in our bathroom, while adding interest to some of the open wall space. Before you get started though, check out my list of things to know before you shiplap a wall. Its easy to do, requires just a few tools, and can be finished in a day or two. That little wall behind the toilet is the perfect place to put a shiplap or pallet wall. One of the nice things about a shiplap wall is that you can just do it on a part of the room.
